Christine Mooney

A native of Wexford, Christine is a self-taught artist who works in watercolour, oils and ink. Her paintings commemorate the seasons of the soul, events in the soul’s journey. The canvas is a map portraying these events in a visual language. She draws inspiration from everyday inner and outer experiences bringing a mystical quality to her work.

During the Wexford Opera Festival 2002, Christine’s very successful show ThreadWheel featured an experimental body of work incorporating fused glass and fabric in her paintings.

Her work is found in corporate and private collections in Ireland and abroad. A cycle of work entitled Cantadora (fore-seer) was featured in Green Acres Gallery 2001, and she exhibited at the Kyle Gallery, Wexford in 1998 and 1999.
